Cam Gallagher is enjoying his time in the big leagues. Just up to make his Major League debut following an injury to Salvador Perez, Gallagher collected his first Major League hit in front of his family last week. On Monday night, against the Athletics, Gallagher outdid himself. Cam found himself up with the bases loaded in the sixth inning against A’s starter Jharel Cotton.
Adding to the drama, is that the sixth inning is the “Sonic Slam Inning.” A grand slam would win $25,000 for contestant Tim Brown of Shawnee, Kansas. And guess what Cam did?
First career HR?

BOOM.
It was the first career home run for Gallagher, and the first Sonic Slam since 2013, when Lorenzo Cain did the deed.

Honestly, Cam Gallagher could probably use the $25k himself, but I’m sure he’ll settle for the thrill of putting the Royals on top 6-2.
