The last time the Colorado Rockies faced the Kansas City Royals in The Other I-70 Series was in 2014, when the Royals beat Colorado twice at Kauffman Stadium and once out of two contests at Coors Field in Denver.
Hopefully, the Royals can replicate what happened that year (in more ways than one). Josh Duggan wrote a great preview of the series, which you should read here. The tl;dr version is that Colorado is a very good team—at 68-56, their record would be fourth-best in the American League, and they’d be gunning for a division title if not for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the hilariously overleveled superboss that only a tiny percentage of people will ever even bother trying to defeat.
Tonight, the Royals will implement Danny Duffy Day, and the Rockies will implement Jon Gray Day (sorry, no alliteration there).
