Tuesday Night Game Thread: Rays at Royals

Can they avoid the record?

Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

The Royals are looking to finally end a historical scoreless innings streak on offense. Now at 43 straight scoreless innings, the Royals will look to get their first run since a Brandon Moss solo home run in second inning of last Thursday's game. Standing in the way of that will by Rays righty Alex Cobb.

The Royals are getting dangerously close to the all time record for consecutive scoreless innings of 48. They desperately need some run(s) and a win to stay in the thick of things in the AL Wild Card race.
