Thursday Thread: Royals at Indians

Laughing when it hurts so bad is the only way to get through it.

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

There's not much time left for the Royals, who are now four games out of a playoff spot and behind four different teams for the second Wild Card position. All they have to do to gain some ground in that race? Beat a team that hasn't lost since August 23.

The Cleveland Indians have won an AL-record 21 games in a row. Wins #2, 3, and 4 of that streak came against Kansas City back on "Player's Weekend" when the Royals scored exactly zero runs that whole series.

Josh Tomlin takes on Jake Junis in a game where the Royals appear to have the upper hand, but Tomlin has completely handled Kansas City this year. It's probably the best on-paper matchup for the Royals in the four-game series. They need to win this series to keep playoff hopes alive, and that...it a tall task right now.
