Apparently 162 games weren’t enough, and we’ll get not one, but two more games today to determine the division champs of the NL Central and Western Division. Nobody will be bounced from contention after today’s games, but they still have major implications as teams look to avoid playing in the one-game “anything can happen like a crazy five-run comeback late with a Salvador Perez single to win it” Wild Card game.
The Brewers and Cubs get underway first, with the game starting at noon on ESPN. Lorenzo Cain, Mike Moustaks, and several other former Royals will be for the Brewers against former Royals like Ben Zobrist and Mike Montgomery for the Cubs. Jhoulys Chacin starts against Jose Quintana in Wrigley Field. The winner will be the #1 seed in the National League and will host the Wild Card champion, while the loser will host the Wild Card game tomorrow.
Former #Royals playing in Game 163 today - #Brewers :Cain, Moustakas, Soria, Jeffress, Kratz, Pina. #Cubs : Jesse Chavez, De La Rosa, Mike Montgomery, Zobrist, Gore, (Duensing). #Dodgers : Alexander, Madison. #Rockies : Wade Davis, Butera. Wow!!

And who will they host? Why the loser of the Dodgers/Rockies game which will be played at 3 p.m. CT at Dodger Stadium this afternoon. The winner will be the National League Western champs and will take on the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series. Rookie Walker Buehler goes for the Dodgers against German Marquez.
