Pitcher wins are an old-fashioned stat that seemed destined to fall by the wayside, but there was a time when winning 20 games in a season was a big deal. 300 wins in a career was a big deal. The stat represented the WILL TO WIN. And some pitchers had it.
Not that many in Royals history, however. No one has even 200 wins in a Royals uniform, a franchise that has long prided itself on pitching. Some of their best talent got hurt, or was traded, or left of their own accord.
