Here is your 2018 Royals Opening Day roster

The day is here. It is finally OPENING DAY!!!!!

The Royals finally revealed their regular season roster this morning, right at the deadline, because your 25-man roster is practically a state secret. The Royals will be without All-Star catcher Salvador Perez, who injured his knee while carrying his luggage. I wish I were making that up. Drew Butera takes over as the Opening Day starter, with Cam Gallagher up from the farm to be his understudy.

The Royals will carry just 12 position players due to their positional flexibility on the roster. Reserve infielder Ryan Goins is capable of playing both middle infield positions and Cheslor Cuthbert can play both corner infield positions. The Royals have three outfielders capable of playing center - Jon Jay, Alex Gordon, and Paulo Orlando. And Whit Merrifield can play pretty much anywhere as needed.

This means the Royals can carry 13 pitchers. Eric Skoglund is the surprise addition to the rotation while Nate Karns will go to the disabled list.

Wily Peralta was designated for assignmment along with Kyle Zimmer. Peralta signed a $1.5 million deal this winter but struggled in spring training.

Relief Pitchers (8): Blaine Boyer, Brian Flynn, Justin Grimm, Kelvin Herrera, Tim Hill, Brad Keller, Brandon Maurer, Burch Smith

Disabled List: Jesse Hahn, Nate Karns, Salvador Perez

Suspended: Jorge Bonifacio
