Whit Merrifield sort of came from nowhere, but he arrived with a big enough impact that the Kansas City Royals gave him his own bobblehead. There are other methods of knowing when you’ve ‘arrived,’ but having your own bobblehead is just about the biggest one.
Royals Review is giving away one Whit Merrifield bobblehead, and we are doing so in a similar way to our Yordano Ventura bobblehead giveaway a few years ago, by awarding the bobblehead to the individual with the best predictive power.
Before we get into the rules, here’s what the bobblehead looks like:

The rules
- One entry per person
- MAIN QUESTION: Predict the Royals’ June record (including games already played)
- TIEBREAKER: Predict the Royals’ June run differential (including games already played)
- SECOND TIEBREAKER: Predict Whit Merrifield’s batting average for June (including games already played)
- Closest to correct number, above or below, wins
You may enter three different ways. The first is through the comments below. If you don’t have a Royals Review account, you can easily sign up by clicking the ‘Sign Up’ button at the top right of the page. You can either link a social media account as a login or create a unique account based on an email; both are free. Normally, there is a waiting period for new accounts, but for today only we have turned that off, so you may sign up and toss your guess into the digital hat immediately.
Alternatively, you can also tweet your predictions to me at @LaMar_Matt using the hashtag #WhitBobbleContest or send a message to the Royals Review Facebook page @RoyalsReview with the same hashtag. I will not consider comments on the Facebook post about this article.
Voting ends TONIGHT at 7:07 Central at first pitch for the Royals/Angels game. I will close comments then and will not consider any Twitter or Facebook submissions at that time.
The winner will be announced in July, and he or she will receive the brand new bobblehead in time for the All-Star game.
Happy guessing!
