If you want to watch Royals’ first-round pick Brady Singer in action, you will get your chance this weekend. Singer and his Florida Gators are scheduled to take on first overall pick Casey Mize and the Auburn Tigers in the NCAA Super Regional this weekend in Gainesville, Florida.
The two pitchers faced each other earlier this year, with each pitcher goin seven innings, allowing four hits in a game back on April 27 in one of the most anticipated matchups in recent memory.
Singer outdueled the #1 overall pick, giving up just one run and striking out eight, while Mize gave up three runs in a 3-1 Florida win. Mize told reporters he is looking forward to the challenge of facing Singer, saying, “It definitely is great when you get to pitch against somebody of his caliber. He’s an elite pitcher, he’s a first rounder. He’s very talented and you always enjoy competing against other great competitors.” Both Singer and Mize are finalists for the Golden Spikes Award, honoring the top player in college baseball.
You can watch Singer take on Mize again on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on ESPN in the best-of-three series. Game Two will take place Sunday at 11 a.m. and Game Three, if necessary, will be on Monday at 7:30, with all games on ESPN. Let’s just hope there won’t be any rain, because Brady Singer HATES RAIN.

The winner of the series will be one of eight teams to advance to the College World Series, to be held in Omaha the following week. The series will also feature Florida third baseman Jonathan India, who was selected by the Reds in the first round. Both Florida and Auburn each had seven current players selected in the draft this week.
