For those of you out there who wish the Royals would win some games things are looking up. Danny Duffy had another good start, last night and Jakob Junis will return from his DL stint, tonight. Junis was terrific at the beginning of the year; he was the only bright spot in a rotation that many had hoped might represent the only bright spot among the position groups, this year. For a while now he’s been exceptionally ineffective, allowing home runs seemingly at the will of the hitters. But if the issue was an injury and he has fully recovered the Royals might finally have a nice one-two punch at the top of their rotation many were dreaming of.

The lineup, on the other hand, figures to get much weaker in the near future. Please enjoy Mike Moustakas and Lucas Duda while you still can. They will surely have new homes in a couple of weeks. In the month of July Duda has finally heated up to the tune of a 118 wRC+. He didn’t miss a step coming off the break, adding a home run as part of a three-hit attack in last night’s win.
