Royals Rumblings - News for July 24, 2018
Maria Torres at the Kansas City Star looks at how the Brian Goodwin acquisition impacts the outfield.
For the time being, Goodwin will be mixed in at center field alongside Rosell Herrera.
“I enjoyed my time there, I enjoyed my teammates there, I enjoyed the competition in the outfield,” Goodwin said. “I think coming over here and not having so much to have to work through and sort through and so many people to have to come around — this is definitely a fresh start.”
Craig Brown at Baseball Prospectus Kansas City gives his approval to the trade.
The days where he projected as a first division regular are probably long gone, but for the Royals he will provide solid production at a controlled cost. Dayton Moore talks about why they pursued bringing back Eric Hosmer.
Dayton Moore on Eric Hosmer " The reason we felt it was really important to have Eric Hosmer back on this team is because I believe majority of fans between 4 - 12 didn't even know our record....but they knew who Eric Hosmer was" #Show&Vern https://t.co/pWK7oILlWW pic.twitter.com/IDqSYwO0p5
