I seem to remember the Athletics in a Wild Card game before

It is the battle of the small-market overachievers as the Tampa Bay Rays take on the Oakland Athletics in the winner-take-all American League Wild Card game. These sabermetric darlings each won over 95 games this year, but only one will advance. The Rays will start 16-game winner Charlie Morton.

Former Royals minor league pitcher Sean Manaea gets the start for Oakland, one of five former Royals on the A’s pitching staff joining Ryan Buchter, Jake Diekman, Liam Hendriks, and Joakim Soria.

The game airs at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.
