The Royals play host to the Milwaukee Brewers in yet another meaningless spring matchup, today. Corbin Burnes will get the start for the Brewers while Homer Bailey will be pitching for the Royals. Bailey is trying to crack the roster but the 10.80 ERA he is lugging around won’t make that any easier.
Frank “The Tank” Schwindel gets to start at first base, today. And if you want to root for a real underdog go celebrate Kort Peterson. Kort is an outfielder who has reached as high as AA in the Royals’ farm system. He’ll get a coveted day in the Royals big league camp, today.
Heath Fillmyer will get the start against the Padres in Peoria. His 3.38 ERA is much prettier than Bailey’s. The Padres will counter with Logan Allen. All of the guys starting for the Royals in that one are ones you’re familiar with.
