Friday night baseball without the Royals thread

Stupid Royals off day!

The Royals are off today because baseball likes to plan for bad weather, but teams in nice-weather states and indoor stadiums are playing tonight. The Brewers will host the Cardinals again after Lorenzo Cain ended yesterday’s game with this amazing catch.

Jack Flaherty goes for the Cardinals against Freddy Peralta at 7:10 CT.

Central division rivals the Detroit Tigers are up north ( or is just due east for them?) to take on the Blue Jays a day after rookie Christin Stewart hit an extra-innings home run for an Opening Day win for the Tigers. Matt Boyd goes for Detroit with Matt Shoemaker going for Toronto.

Charlie Morton faces his former Astros teammates as Tampa Bay hosts Houston. Gerrit Cole goes for the Astros, who took the season opener 5-1.

In other games, the Rockies are in Miami, the A’s host the Angels, the Red Sox are in Seattle, the Giants take on the Padres in San Diego, and the Diamondbacks will try not to allow eight home runs again like they did in the season opener against the Dodgers.

What NL team will you be rooting for this year?
