It seems like just yesterday the season was starting, and the ever-present scent of hope still yet lingered on this Kansas City Royals team.

Well, that scent is gone, replaced by something more foul. The stink of losing. Furthermore, we’re now basically halfway through the season. How does that feel to you? Halfway through the season?

It doesn’t matter, ultimately. Time stops for no one and then we all die. Eat Arby’s.

Tonight, the Royals will face the Chief Wahoo-less Cleveland Indians for, somehow, only the fifth time this year. Meanwhile, the Royals have played the Chicago White Sox 12 times already. Odd. Lineups are below.

Can the Royals avoid yet another road series loss? Tonight will tell. If they win, they could go for their second road series win this month. What an achievement that would be. Just a few short weeks before the All-Star break and two road series wins? Let’s hope so. Or not, if you’re a tanker. That’s fine too.
