Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Royals fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.
With the season in the toilet, Royals fans are looking to the future, dreaming of what the next competitive Royals club will look like. Those dreams usually include a quartet of pitchers selected in the 2018 draft - Brady Singer, Daniel Lynch, Jackson Kowar, and Kris Bubic. Those four have all moved quickly through the system and have enjoyed some success this year. But which one are Royals fans most optimistic about? We posed that question to Royals fans in our weekly FanPulse poll this week, and it was first-round pick Brady Singer that came out on top.

Singer was promoted to Double-A Northwest Arkansas after dominating in Wilmington, and he has struggled a bit since his promotion with a 5.80 ERA in seven starts. Still, he is just 22 years old and was the first of the quartet to reach that level, with former Gators teammate Jackson Kowar joining him a few weeks later. Kowar has made just four starts with the Naturals, but has looked very impressive with a 1.61 ERA. Lefty Daniel Lynch made some Top 100 prospect lists before the year, and pitched well at Wilmington before he was sidelined with an injury. Kris Bubic has seen his stock rise considerably after dominating in Lexington, and has already moved up to High-A Wilmington.
Confidence in the direction of the franchise dipped below 50 percent for the first time this year, with just 47 percent of FanPulse respondents saying they were confident, down from 54 percent last week and 64 percent in week one. Ned Yost’s approval rating continues to hover below 50 percent, with just 44 percent approving of the job he is doing.
In the national FanPulse questions, fans were asked which pitcher that might be available at the trade deadline would they give up the most for? Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer led the way with 35 percent of respondents favoring him, with rumors he could be dealt despite the Indians being in the running for a playoff spot. Behind Bauer were Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner, Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman, Tigers pitcher Matt Boyd, and Mets pitcher Zach Wheeler.
