Look, guys.
I’ve written a lot of very detailed recaps in my Royals Review career. This one will not be one of them, because the Chiefs are playing. Also, because this game was brutally uninteresting.
The Astros beat the Royals, 12-3. They swept the series.
Kansas City got a first-inning run on a Jorge Soler triple. Whit Merrifield added a fifth-inning RBI single. Everything else was a Houston highlight. Jake Junis didn’t make it out of the third because the Astros were teeing off on him. Kyle Zimmer also gave up a homer later on.
The Royals are 55-95. They’re back to 40 games under .500 and this weekend went exactly how we feared it would.
Two more weeks in the season.
Patrick Mahomes is balling. Go Chiefs!
