The A’s walked off on the Royals, 1-0, in the 11th inning.
A pitcher’s duel that saw Danny Duffy match Homer Bailey pitch-for-pitch ended with Jessie Hahn getting walked off.
Duffy was really good. He made it through seven innings and allowed just two hits, striking out six in the process. His ERA dropped to 4.30; it’s darn close to 1.50 in his last five starts.
The Royals’ offense offered zero highlights. They had four hits - a double by Jorge Soler and three singles - in 11 innings. Homer Bailey, who is not good, shut them down to the tune of seven scoreless and 11 strikeouts.
The Royals are 56-97. They will head to Minnesota next.
