The Royals are hot, ladies and gentleman. Kansas City ended a brutal August with a 7-5 win over the Orioles, beginning a four-game winning streak that equals their longest of the season and carries into today. That’s right. A win today would give the Royals their 5th straight win, the longest streak of the season.
Kansas City also officially has their first 40-home run hitter in Jorge Soler, thanks to this absolute tank last night.

We should probably enjoy these wins while we have them. Over the next seven games, the Royals will face the Tigers, Marlins, and White Sox, a semi-favorable schedule. After that, Kansas City closes with a brutal slate, taking on Houston, Oakland, and Atlanta, as well as seven more games against the division-leading Twins.
Glenn Sparkman will get the ball, who has a 7.56 ERA since July 1. That’s the worst ERA in baseball during that stretch by a pretty significant margin. Fortunately for the Royals, Sparkman will be opposed by Matthew Boyd who has the 7th worst ERA in baseball during that same stretch.
