The news of the sale of the Royals to local businessman John Sherman came as a surprise to many, but there are many reasons to think it may be a good thing. Royals fans seem to agree, as the sale of the club has given them more confidence in the future of the ballclub, according to our latest FanPulse results.

This week, 80 percent of FanPulse respondents have confidence in the direction of the ballclup, a significant increase from the 61 percent that had confidence last week, before the sale was made public. In fact, the number represents the highest number all season by FanPulse respondents, with fan confidence hovering around 60 percent much of the season.

The future of manager Ned Yost is uncertain now with new ownership, but most of our fans still approve of the job he is doing, even as the team veers into another 100-loss season. According to our results, 58 percent approve of the job Ned is doing, consistent with his approval ratings for much of the season.

In our national FanPulse question this week, fans were asked if they ever approved of bench-clearing brawls.
