There was some doubt as to whether we would even see a World Series this year, but the Dodgers and Rays had a six-game series with some pretty memorable moments including a thrilling ending to Game 4. In the end, the Dodgers won their first championship in over three decades, and baseball fans were pretty pleased with the series, according to our latest SBN Reacts poll.
There series did have some controversy at the end when third baseman Justin Turner was pulled in the middle of Game 6 for a positive COVID-19 test, only to return on the field for the post-game celebration. Turner later apologized, and MLB offered no punishment, saying “Major League Baseball could have handled the situation more effectively.”
But our SB Nation Reacts respondents feel differently, with 77 percent wanting some sort of punishment for Turner’s on-field celebration.
Now that we’re in the off-season, teams are making personnel changes. There have been a few managerial openings, but our respondents feel the opening with the White Sox is the most attractive job.
The White Sox stunned the baseball world by bringing back Hall of Fame manager Tony LaRussa, who managed the White Sox from 1979 to 1986 and last managed in the big leagues in 2011.
Finally, the Tigers hired former Astros manager A.J. Hinch, who was fired after being suspended for a year for his role in the sign-stealing scandal in Houston. Fans are pretty split as to whether or not Hinch should get another shot to manage a club.
