We continue with Round Two of our bracket of the most beloved Royals of all-time. We divided 64 players into four brackets by era - The Herzog era (1969-1980), the Howser era (1981-1994), the Muser era (1995-2010), and the Yost era (2011-2019). You can see the first round voting for the Herzog bracket here. The first round of that bracket went pretty much all chalk.

You can still vote on the first round for the Howser bracket, the Muser bracket, and the Yost bracket. Let’s see who the most beloved Royals players are in the second round of the Herzog bracket.
#1 George Brett vs. #8 Steve Busby
Unsurprisingly, Brett took 99 percent of the vote in topping #16 Ed Kirkpatrick. Steve Busby had a closer vote, but took 59 percent of the vote over Darrell Porter in round one.

#3 John Mayberry vs. #6 Fred Patek
Big John had a surprisingly close vote, taking 68 percent of the vote, but that should be a big surprise considering Cookie Rojas was so popular he was a write-in to the All-Star Game one year. Freddie “The Flea” Patek took 79 percent of the vote against outfielder Al Cowens, seeded #11.
