We divided 64 players into four eras - The Herzog era (1969-1980), the Howser era (1981-1994), the Muser era (1995-2010), and the Yost era (2011-2019) to determine who is the most beloved player in Royals history.
You can see how voting went here. In our championship matchup, with 1,631 voters chiming in, Alex Gordon took 57 percent of the vote against Hall of Fame slugger George Brett!

Gordo is a three-time All-Star and seven-time Gold Glove winner who has spent his entire 13-year career with the Royals. While he can’t match George Brett on the field, his work off the field is well-noted, and he was the 2014 Hutch Award winner for his charity work, which may helped bump up his numbers in the voting.
Thanks to everyone for participating and I hope you had some fun with it. Maybe we’ll do this again in another 50 years?
