The Royals have announced three exhibition games in the week leading up to the start of the regular season, hosting the Houston Astros and visiting the Cardinals in St. Louis. The Royals will take on the Astros at Kauffman Stadium on Monday, July 20 at 7:05, and Tuesday, July 21 at 1:05 in the afternoon. They will travel to St. Louis on Wednesday to play at Busch Stadium for a 3:05 start on July 22. The Royals are scheduled to begin the regular season on July 24 in Cleveland. All three games will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Kansas City.

The Royals face the Astros for the first time since they were punished by the Commissioner’s office for sign-stealing. They won 107 games last year and fell in the World Series to the Washington Nationals. The trip to St. Louis will mark Mike Matheny’s first game against the Cardinals, the team he managed for seven seasons. Teams were allowed to schedule up to three exhibition games to start this season.

he Royals have said they are moving forward with plans not to have fans at the start of the season, but hope to have fans later on in the year.
