Welcome to SB Nation Reacts (formerly known as SB Nation Fanpulse), a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Royals fans, sign up HERE to join SBN Reacts.

Baseball experimented with expanded playoffs last year, putting eight teams in each league in the post-season due to the pandemic. Owners would like to try the idea again this year, but their proposal to players was rejected. We asked SBN Reacts respondents whether they would like to see expanded playoffs this year, and 59 percent rejected the idea as well.

Owners would certainly like expanded playoffs to be here to stay, adding lucrative post-season revenue. But our fans reject expanding the playoffs on a permanent basis.

A plurality of fans would like to see eight total teams make the playoffs - four from each league, while slightly fewer prefer the format baseball had before the pandemic, with five teams from each league in the post-season.
