Not many people know this, but the Yankees and Red Sox are long-standing rivals. They’ve faced each other in a one-game post-season situation before, in 1978 when Bucky Dent homered to give the Yankees a win over the Red Sox in a one-game playoff for the division. Who will be tonight’s Bucky Dent?

The Yankees are without second baseman DJ LeMaheiu due to a groin injury, and Gio Urshela was rattled on Sunday after landing in the dugout chasing a pop fly, although he’ll start tonight.

Ace Gerrit Cole will face off against Red Sox starter Nate Eovaldi.

Slugger J.D. Martinez is out after suffering an ankle injury last week and is not on tonight’s roster.

The game airs at 7:08 CT on ESPN.
