Spring Training Game XVIII: Royals at White Sox

On the verge of a losing streak

MLB: Detroit Tigers at Kansas City Royals Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

The Royals have started this exhibition season as the best team in baseball, winning 12 of their first 15 games. And it is now all in jeopardy, with Kansas City’s fake season on the brink of a losing streak. O, how the mighty have fallen.

Coming off of back-to-back losses to the Mariners and Athletics by a combined score of 23-5, Kansas City will look to right the ship and keep their Cactus League championship hopes alive against Chicago’s south siders.

Kris Bubic makes his fourth appearance of the season and his first start, having been roughed up a bit thus far. Bubic has given up nine hits and four earned runs in just 5.0 innings of work this spring.

He’ll face fellow lefty Dallas Keuchel, who will be making his spring debut. Keuchel enters his second season in Chicago as the #2 starter behind Lucas Giolito, looking to build off of a strong debut season where he posted a 1.99 ERA in 11 starts.

Here are your lineups for this afternoon’s contest, with the first pitch scheduled to be thrown almost exactly two weeks from Opening Day.
