Welcome one, welcome all: no matter what draft shenanigans have occurred recently—and there have been a lot—it is time for the time for Dong Day. In other words, I’m talking about the 2021 Home Run Derby, y’all.

Our very own Salvador Perez is participating, the first participant since Mike Moustakas in 2017. Perez ranks 11th in American League home runs, but as we all know, he is a big strong man who is likely to do well in this event when strikes are the only thing he’ll see.

As you can see, Perez has a second round date with one Shohei Ohtani should both advance, who is also starting the All-Star Game tomorrow. That man is a unicorn among men.

Play ball. Er, dong. Home run. Whatever.
