The game you have all been waiting for has arrived. Matt Harvey’s long awaited return to the K, where he will take on his former team in a battle between two of the bottom three teams in the American League.
Carlos Hernandez will toe the slab for the Royals in his first start of the 2021 campaign. Hernandez was scheduled to start last Sunday, but the game was postponed due to weather. In 12 relief appearances this year, Hernandez has definitely had his flashes of brilliance to go with some not so great moments. In 21.2 innings, the right-hander has a 4.98 ERA.
In 18 starts this season, Harvey is 3-10 with a 7.71 ERA. Harvey is far from an innings eater this year for the Orioles as he has yet to make it to the 7th inning in any start.
After a disappointing Saturday game, specifically Brady Singer, it will be interesting to see how the Royals respond with many changes (hopefully) coming soon with the trade deadline looming within the next couple of weeks.
Nicky Lopez has come back from the All-Star break hot, having two hits in each of the previous two games against Baltimore.
