The Royals will open the 2022 season in Cleveland on March 31, with the home opener on April 4 against the Chicago White Sox, according to the schedule released this week. The Royals opened the shortened 2020 season in Cleveland as well. Of the first nineteen games, fourteen will be at home, against Central Division rivals.
The Royals will begin interleague play early with a series in St. Louis against the Cardinals on April 12-13. They’ll host their cross-state rivals for a short two-game series on May 3-4. The Royals will also travel to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks on May 23-24, and San Francisco to play the Giants on June 13-15. They will host the Dodgers on August 12-14, the Diamondbacks from August 23-24, and Eric Hosmer and the San Diego Padres on August 26-28.

The All-Star break will take place a week later than it did this year, with teams off from July 18-21 for the game at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The Royals end the year with 24 of their last 30 games against division opponents, and the last six games on the road, in Detroit and Cleveland.
Game times will be announced at a later date, and the promotional schedule will be announced over the off-season.
