In his series preview, David Lesky did not bury the lede: the Kansas City Royals have not won a baseball game against Cleveland since April 5, a period of 168 days. In fact, that game on April 5 is the only win that the Royals have versus Cleveland this whole year. The Royals have only 20 wins against Cleveland since 2018. It has not been great.
Today, the Royals have the chance to, well, not play spoiler, but to add to that win total for pride. Cleveland is one game under .500 and, frankly, deserves to be way, way more under .500 after punting on keeping their good players around. At least they have a football team that can also beat Kansas City! Wait.
Anyway, today is a double-header. This thread will function as the thread for both games. There will be one recap for both afterwards.
