The Royals have agreed to terms on a two-year, $13 million deal with free agent outfielder Hunter Renfroe, according to Anne Rogers. Renfroe can opt out of the deal after next season.

Renfroe has spent eight years in the big leagues as a slugger with 20-30 HR power and a strong arm in right. He has played with the Padres, Rays, Red Sox, Brewers, Angels, and Reds, hitting .239/.300/.478 in his career. This year he hit .233/.297/.416 with 20 home runs with the Angels and Reds, his first season as a below-replacement level player.

The 31-year-old right-handed bat smacked 29 home runs with a 124 OPS+ in 2022 with Milwaukee, and has twice hit over 30 home runs. He has a very strong arm, but has some of the worst range metrics among outfielders.
